The BSC Toolbar allows you to integrate your critical business
applications with your content management software. Using an
array of different data capture technologies, the BSC Toolbar
will read data from your business application, then retrieve and
display associated documents.
Copy & Paste
Any data that can be copied to the Windows clipboard can be used to search, retrieve or index documents in your content management software using the BSC Toolbar. After copying the data, enter a hot-key and the Toolbar does the rest.
Screen OCR
Some applications prevent you from copying information from data fields. To address this, the BSC Toolbar allows you to "lasso" a part of the screen. The information in the lasso is processed through a powerful OCR engine.
Mouseover
The BSC Toolbar gives you the ability to simply move your mouse pointer over a data field in many Windows applications, then using a hot-key, transfer the data to your content management software.
Tagged Retrieval
If you need to set up multiple fields to be transferred to your content management software from your business application, Tagged Retrieval is the capture method for you. Specific fields in a windows application can be mapped to index fields in your content management software and with one keystroke, these fields can be transferred to the correct fields in your software for document retrieval or indexing.
Fixed Position
Your business application may be a tried-and-true mainframe application accessed through a terminal emulator program. The BSC Toolbar integrates with WinHLLAPI terminal emulators to read multiple fields at pre-defined locations on the screen. As with the other capture methods, a hot-key immediately transfers the data from your mainframe application into the defined index fields in your content management software.
All of these capture methods are easily configurable with no programming required. Hot keys may be set up for document retrieval and batch indexing so that you never have to take your hands off the keyboard. The BSC Toolbar keeps track of your queries, allowing you to review previous retrieval or index tasks. Since data fields in your business application may be formatted differently than your index fields, you can easily set up data masks in the BSC Toolbar to modify your data formatting before sending the information to your content management software. With the BSC Toolbar, integration has never been easier!
